In October of the twentieth, the Koreans presented the “hot” Hyundai i20 N, designed specifically for the European market. Based on the new i20, the hot hatch draws attention with its striking bright red accents around the perimeter.
It also has other bumpers and an aerodynamic body kit consisting of special door sills and a rear wing on the fifth door. LED headlights are standard, and the wheels feature 18-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires.
Of the features of the interior of the new Hyundai i20 N 2021, it is worth noting sports seats and other graphics of a virtual instrument. Plus, the five-door interior is characterized by dotted contrasting accents. The car is driven by a 1.6-liter T-GDi turbo engine with a CVVD system, which allows you to smoothly change the opening times of the intake valves.
The performance of such a unit is 204 hp. and 275 Nm, and it works in tandem with a six-speed manual. It is reported that the car weighs 1,190 kg and is capable of accelerating from zero to hundreds in 6.7 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 230 km / h.
It is interesting that in the arsenal of the model there is an electronic system that adjusts the speed of rotation of the crankshaft when changing gears. However, it can be deactivated with a special red “Rev” button on the steering wheel.
There are five modes of driving electronics for the Hyundai i20 N, including Normal, Eco, Sport, N and N Custom, the latter allowing the driver to choose the settings “for himself.” You can switch between presets using the corresponding buttons on the steering wheel, painted in blue.
The suspension configuration of the new Hyundai i20 n 2021 remains standard, meaning it still uses MacPherson struts at the front and semi-independent at the rear. However, the Koreans installed new shock absorbers, springs and stabilizers, and also changed the geometry of the levers. The ground clearance was lowered by 10 mm, and the bottom was reinforced in twelve places.
Additionally, the developers made the steering gear a little sharper, reducing the gear ratio from 12.4 to 12.0. And to improve safety, the “heated” hatchback received more efficient brakes: the front disc diameter was increased by 40 millimeters.
As for the stabilization system, for driving sensations, it can either be completely turned off, or simply put into the tolerant Sport mode. There is also a quick start function Launch control, and for a surcharge, you can order a mechanical limited-slip differential.
In the European market, sales of the Hyundai i20 N will start in the spring of 2021. The Koreans have not yet spread about the cost of the hatchback, while the novelty is intended to impose competition on the Ford Fiesta ST and VW Polo GTI models, for which in the Old World they ask from 24,000 and 26,400 euros, respectively (at the current exchange rate, this is from 2,190,000 and 2,400,000 rubles).
