This car, wearing a “crimson jacket” in the form of the legendary body of the S-class W140, was recently built in the Hungarian studio KO Motors. It looks like an ordinary “boar”, except for the suspension slightly lowered by 5 mm, but obviously not factory-made 19-inch discs, with red brake calipers visible behind them.

In fact, we have a real monster in front of us. So that you understand what we are talking about – the acceleration from 100 to 200 km / h of this representative mastodon from the 90s is only 6.0 seconds! For comparison, the McLaren F1 does it in about the same time, while the Bugatti Veyron accelerates just a little faster – in 4.8 seconds. This “gelding” could not even pass a normal measurement at the stand – the tires were smoking.

The body of the Mercedes S600 W140 is “dressed” on the Mercedes CL 65 AMG chassis of the C215 series. And it’s a different kind of engineering skill to connect two cars from different decades. The point is not even so much that we are talking about two representative cars, where in itself everything is arranged in a very complex way.

The customer wished that complete authenticity remained in the cabin – all the same buttons, toggle switches, even an onboard cell phone with a working SIM card – everything was preserved. Synchronizing this with the latest electronics proved to be a daunting task.

Also, the craftsmen from KO Motors had to tinker with the steering, which is on the S-Class W140 of the worm type. It had to be converted to a rack and pinion. Plus, they thought about the normal operation of the stabilization system for a long time, about which the creators of the “boar” had not even thought about it while developing it.

But if the matter were limited to simply “putting on” the body on the AMG-shnoe chassis, we would not be writing this article. To capture and “digest” the staggering 860 horsepower, many of the components of this car were custom made.

For example, the legendary Mercedes V12 got reinforced connecting rods, two rebuilt turbochargers, a special cooling system and a ceramic-coated manifold. The Hungarians also “shoveled” the suspension, in which only the levers with steering knuckles remained intact, and the modified Brembo brakes were able to fit only into 19-inch discs.

A separate “song” is the exhaust system. The pipes from each bank of cylinders are connected to each other in front of the last “cans”. This jumper has a valve that, when a special button is pressed, turns the exhaust system into a forward flow. And then all the thunder of the “pumped up” 12-cylinder engine descends to the ground.

In the cabin of this Mercedes-Benz 600 SEL KO860 W140, there is little reminiscent of killer power. Is that the speedometer marked up to 400 km / h and the button for turning off the stabilization systems, which depicts a skull. Yes, on such a “rocket” it is better not to press it.

Who is the owner of this hellish stallion, what grade of steel his eggs are made of, and where he now scares all sorts of “dudes” on Ferrari, we can only guess. But I want to believe that he appreciated this wonderful tuning piece, which took almost 9 months of work.
