Before buying a new Mitsubishi Outlander 2021 or any other car, you should first study the reviews of the owners who shared their experience of owning this crossover.
Below we have collected the disadvantages of Mitsubishi Outlander 3 based on feedback from real car owners. The model is sold in Russia with two gasoline atmospheric engines. The two-liter develops 146 hp. and can be both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
The more powerful 2.4-liter unit produces 167 “horses” and is available exclusively with AWD, while both are paired with a variator.
Earlier in Russia it was possible to purchase a top-end Oulander 3.0 V6 with 227 “horses”, which is supposed to have an automatic transmission, but today this version is no longer on sale. You can add the minuses and pluses of the car in the comments.

Owner reviews Mitsubishi Outlander 2020-2021
For 1.5 years, it has heated 43,000 km and it is already possible to draw conclusions. Very comfortable for the track, but turned out to be too roll in turns. On broken asphalt, you can race over 100 km / h (rubber with a high profile). Where most cars start to brake, I can afford to keep going without changing speed.
The power of the 2.0 engine is sufficient for overtaking, at speeds up to 140 km / h. In the city, that still a vegetable, not for traffic light races! The cruising speed is 160 km / h, at which the car feels great (rpm 2,500 – 3,000). Fuel consumption depends on the gas pedal pressed through by the foot: city 10-14, highway – 8.5-11.
The trunk is huge! Light-halogen lenses on a solid 4. In winter, various buttons (steering wheel, seats, windshield) help to keep warm. Gorgeous rides in loose snow.
Review of Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 (146 HP) on a 2020 CVT
An excellent car, I compare it with the 2020 Toyota RAV4, tk. I drive both at the same time. This one is much quieter, i.e. insulation is better. Acceleration is faster, and it is faster. Very good road holding in corners. I tried to hang the rear wheels on him – I didn’t let him.
The variator is installed on both machines. This one does not howl like a Toyota, plus it shifts smoothly, without jerks. The seats are more comfortable, but the interior is simpler than in RAV 4. It is very comfortable to sit behind tall people. Very strong LED optics, super illumination. Toyota has the same, but more absent-minded, but here it is concentrated.
Excellent all-round visibility through video cameras is a very powerful thing, especially when parking. Large storage boxes in the trunk, made with compartments, which is convenient. My service technician for this car has the same car, only the old one, the mileage is already 445,000 km! For which they love Mitsubishi in Russia.
Review of the new Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4 (167 hp) CVT 2021
Honest 3.0 liters (227 Japanese filly) and 6-speed automatic transmission. The machine is very quick, the switch is clear and timely. When accelerating from a standstill, it turns in each gear almost to the red zone. When accelerating on the move – not so intensively, it switches earlier.
After the variator, it seems that you are driving mechanics – everything is predictable, on time, acceleration appears as soon as you press the pedal. The harder you press, the more it accelerates. And the acceleration limit does not come very soon!
Review of Mitsubishi Outlander 3.0 V6 (227 HP) automatic transmission 4WD 2020
In comparison with the previous Outlander XL, the upper glove compartment was removed from the front – it’s a pity, I liked it. At the same time, the main glove compartment closes crookedly – I will understand the MOT. At the rear, the middle passenger’s belt has become more complex: it is attached to the ceiling, and unnecessary flipping is required to use it. Everything in the old car was human.
Rear seats do not move back and forth: only tilt adjustment. It’s not critical for me: in all the years of my ownership of XL, I have never used this opportunity. But the fact that they cannot be heated in any configuration is a shame: competitors have such an opportunity all the time. On the other hand, air ducts appeared back, so we may not freeze.
Review of Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 (146 HP) on a 2019 4WD variator
I thought that after the VW Jetta I would not feel such a qualitative leap, but in fact the Outlander is a different level. There is more space in the cabin, the trunk is more convenient.
The noise is good, the engine is really audible – it roars at intense accelerations, but this sound is unobtrusive and with the included music is generally almost indistinguishable. I can’t hear the asphalt, although on the Jetta after 80 km / h the rumble increased, but here – silence.
Review of Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4 (167 HP) CVT 4WD 2019
In Moscow traffic jams, the consumption did not rise above 11.0 liters in winter and 10.5 liters in summer, even with the climate turned on. Now the car has been tested on the route Moscow-Temryuk. The speed mainly varied from 90 to 140 km / h, and the fuel consumption was 8.2-9.0 liters.
We went to Gelendzhik – this is 130 km, of which about 100 km along mountain roads. Consumption was 9.0-10.5 liters in a continuously operating climate (it was 30-32 degrees outside). Regarding the dynamics: for almost 12,000 km of run, I have never experienced any inconvenience during sharp maneuvers or overtaking, but sometimes, extremely rarely, I used the sport mode.

The steering wheel is very light, it is cool in the city, but on the highway “zero” needs a little catch. The car holds the road perfectly, does not heel in turns. The suspension is stiff, but not fatal. The turning radius is the smallest in the class, the car turns almost on the spot, it’s funny.
After the reference operation of the machine on the Honda Civic, you need to get used to the variator. The main thing is not to look at the tachometer, because acceleration and revs on the tachometer live their own lives. The variator adjusts slightly to the driving style, after a while acceleration becomes more predictable. Sport mode works great and is useful when overtaking on the track.
