Aston Martin has unveiled the updated V12 Vantage coupe, which received the S prefix to the name (like the previously announced four-door Rapide S). The public debut of the novelty took place in July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013.
It differs from the dorestaylin model Aston Martin V12 Vantage S with a modified radiator grille, made in a similar vein to that of the conceptual CC100 Speedster, built in honor of the company’s 100th anniversary. In addition, the car received new design wheels and a lid and trunk lid painted in a contrasting color.

But the main innovation of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S lies under the hood – there is an upgraded 6.0-liter naturally aspirated twelve-cylinder engine with the AM28 index, the power of which, compared to the previous AM11 engine, has grown from 517 to 573 hp, and the maximum torque the torque now reaches 620 Nm.
A completely new gearbox is also installed in the car – the 7-speed “robot” Sportshift III has replaced the six-speed mechanics with the ability to shift gears using paddle shifters. The top speed of the new V12 Vantage S is 330 km / h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 3.9 seconds – 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor.
And in the spring of 2016, a new seven-speed manual transmission with the AMSHIFT rebase function became available for the model when shifting down. It allowed to reduce the weight of the car by 4 kg, but this did not affect the dynamic characteristics of the model in any way.
In addition to the increased power, the coupe dropped 15 kg (the total weight was reduced to 1,665 kilograms). The automaker notes that the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is the fastest car in the company’s lineup. Only the exclusive One-77 was faster, but now it is no longer produced.
Among other technical features of the new product, it is important to note the adaptive suspension with three modes of operation (Normal, Sport and Track), Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, a fully deactivated stabilization system, a retuned exhaust system and Servotronic variable-force steering.
Inside, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S features new lightweight sports seats upholstered in leather and Alcantara, and an optional Carbon Fiber Interior package, which includes a carbon fiber front fascia and door cards, and black pedals. Later, the Sport Plus Pack styling package appeared with contrasting elements in the exterior design and lightweight wheels.
Sales of the updated coupe started at the end of 2013, the price of Aston Martin V12 Vantage S in Europe starts at 180,000 euros, and the type of transmission chosen does not affect the cost.
