In early March, two thousand and twentieth, the premiere of the new model Audi A3 Sportback 2021 of the fourth generation took place. Externally, the car remained recognizable, in terms of technology, there was no revolution either, and only in the cabin the car was greatly transformed.
The new body of the 2021 Audi A3 Sportback can now only be a five-door – the three-door will no longer be offered. Nevertheless, a sedan will be prepared on the basis of the hatch later, plus it is possible that a convertible will be preserved in the range. There will also likely be a “heated” version of the S3 and a “charged” RS3.

The design of the car was made in a more austere style, slightly expanding the proprietary grille, and the head optics stand out with small protrusions on the sides. In profile, slightly swollen wheel arches can be noted, a slightly reduced window in the C-pillars and a more sloping roof.
The stern has acquired other lights, and in the bumpers (both in the front and in the rear), black mesh plugs are prescribed on the sides, imitating air ducts. Inside, the new Audi A3 2021 is simply unrecognizable – not a trace remains of the past modest and minimalist interior of the predecessor.
Already in the base of the car there is a virtual instrument cluster on a 12.3-inch display, and on the center console there is a 10.1-inch MMI multimedia system screen, slightly turned towards the driver. This solution resembles the older models of the company, only there is also a third screen for climate control, while the buttons are preserved here.
Also noteworthy are the incredibly stylish air ducts located to the right and left of the instrument panel, while another wide air duct is located in front of the front passenger. In general, all this allowed to make the interior of the new Audi A3 Sportback IV much more modern, stylish and expensive.
As in the case of its predecessor, the new model of the Audi A3 2021 is based on the modular MQB platform, and on versions with engines with an output of less than 150 hp. a semi-dependent beam is installed at the back, while other versions have a multi-link design (McPherson struts in front).
At the same time, by default, the car goes on a standard suspension, but for an additional payment, customers are offered a sports suspension with a 15 mm lower ground clearance, or a suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers (here the clearance is reduced by 10 mm).
The overall length of the five-door has increased to 4,340 mm against 4,310 earlier, but the size of the wheelbase (2,640) has not changed. The width is 1,820 (it was 1,790), the height remains the same – 1,430. The trunk volume is 380 liters (+ 15), and with the backs of the second row folded down, the compartment increases to 1,200 liters (+ 100).
At first, only three engines were offered for the Audi A3 2021 in a new body – a 1.5-liter petrol TFSI with a capacity of 150 hp, as well as a 2.0-liter diesel TDI, available in versions with 116 and 150 hp. They are combined either with a 6-speed manual transmission or with a 7-band S tronic robot.
So far, all of the listed versions come exclusively with front-wheel drive, but gradually the company will expand the range of power units available for the model, there will be options with quattro all-wheel drive, as well as various hybrid modifications.
True, a different configuration was offered for Russia – at first it was decided to supply cars with the same 1.4-liter TFSI for 150 forces, front-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Four configurations are offered for the car (Base, Advance, Design and Sport), the price varies from 2,525,000 to 2,901,000 rubles. Acceptance of orders for the hatchback and sedan opened in April twenty-first.
Note that among the many options for the A3 Sportback, there are adaptive cruise control, a lane keeping system, blind spot monitoring, an automatic parking function, a reverse parking assist, as well as third-generation MMI multimedia, which works ten times faster the same.
The latter provides support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, LTE communication, distribution of Wi-Fi and advanced navigation, which has learned to plot a route taking into account traffic jams and algorithms for the road infrastructure. Plus, a proprietary application has appeared, with which you can remotely open and close doors, start the engine and monitor the remaining fuel in the tank.
