In February of the twenty-first year, the Germans presented a production version of the all-electric Audi e-tron GT, the concept of which was first shown to the public in the fall of the eighteenth.
Interestingly, in terms of exterior design, the four-door turned out to be almost an exact copy of the mentioned prototype, although it received slightly modified bumpers, larger side mirror housings and standard door handles.
The presented Audi e-throne GT 2021 is characterized by the presence of a sloping roof and a short tail of the trunk with a small lid. The car has a streamlined silhouette, while its drag coefficient is declared at 0.24.
In addition, active air dampers are designed to contribute to good aerodynamics, which help cool the brakes and open only when necessary. By the way, the wheels on the car can be 19, 20 or 21 inches.
The sedan has a digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch display, as well as a 10.1-inch multimedia system screen, plus a projection screen is included in the equipment list. At the same time, the electric car has a traditional push-button climate control panel, while other modern models of the brand sport a fully touch-sensitive center console.
The 2021 Audi e-tron GT is built on the J1 platform, which is familiar from the Porsche Taycan electric sports car. The overall length of the model is 4,989 mm, the size of the wheelbase is 2,900, the width is 1,964, the height is 1,414. The trunk volume is 405 liters, and on cars with an advanced Bang & Olufsen audio system – 366 liters. As for the front trunk, it is only 85 liters here.
For the novelty, the Germans prepared two four-wheel drive modifications at once. The basic version has a 238 hp front motor, and a 435 hp rear motor, while a two-stage gearbox is also installed at the rear (as on Taikan). The performance of the units is artificially limited by electronics to 476 hp. (630 Nm), although when the “Launch control” mode is activated for a short period of time (2.5 seconds), they are capable of delivering 530 forces and 640 Nm of torque.
It is reported that such a car needs 4.1 seconds to accelerate from zero to a hundred, the maximum speed is declared at 245 km / h. The top-end Audi RS e-tron GT has the same front electric motor, while the rear one is slightly more powerful – 456 hp. By default, their total recoil is 598 forces (830 Nm), and when “Launch control” is activated – 646 “horses” at the same torque.
The first electric “Erska” is capable of firing from 0-100 km / h in 3.3 seconds, developing speeds up to the electronically limited 250 km / h. Both modifications are equipped with a traction battery with a capacity of 93 kWh, although only 85 kWh are effectively used here. The basic version is able to travel without recharging up to 487 km (according to the WLTP cycle), and the “charged” version is 472 kilometers.
At the same time, the equipment of the car includes an 800-volt electrical system, designed to ensure fast battery charging. So, from a DC station with a maximum power of 270 kW and a voltage of 800 volts, you can replenish the battery charge for a 100 km throw in just 5 minutes. It will take a little more than 25 minutes to fully replenish the battery capacity.
The base Audi e-throne GT relies on an adaptive spring suspension and a limited-slip rear differential. In turn, the RS e-tron GT has air suspension with three-chamber cylinders, which allows you to adjust the ground clearance in the range of 42 mm, as well as an electronically controlled differential. Plus, the “charged” electric sedan boasts a synthesized sound that imitates the operation of an internal combustion engine. However, for a surcharge, all this equipment is offered for the initial version.
Carbon ceramic brakes and an all-steering chassis are also available as options for both cars. Due to the latter, the rear wheels of the four-door can be deflected by an angle of up to 2.8 degrees. At speeds up to 70 km / h, they turn in the opposite direction with the front wheels, thereby contributing to better maneuverability, and after 80 km / h – in the same direction, which improves the stability of the car.
Among other additional equipment, it is worth noting adaptive cruise control, matrix LED headlights with laser-phosphor high beams (turns on at speeds over 70 km / h) and a car parking function with remote control.
The electric Audi e-throne GT entered the assembly line of the enterprise in Neckarsulm, Germany in December twentieth, and now the company has announced the acceptance of orders for the model. The basic version is estimated at a minimum of 100,000 euros (8,950,000 rubles at the current exchange rate), and for the RS e-tron GT version you will have to pay from 138,000 (12,350,000 rubles).
