In early October two thousand nineteen, the Germans presented an updated version of the “charged” station wagon Audi RS4 Avant 2021 model year. As expected, the car received a revised exterior in the style of its older “brother” in the face of the RS6 Avant.
The new model Audi RS4 Avant 2020 can be distinguished from the pre-reform version by the glossy black radiator grille, which now has no frame, with a decorative slot above it. The car also received new LED headlights (for a surcharge – matrix) with black inserts along the edges.

The latter are intended to emphasize the width of the car, which has increased by 30 mm due to the puffer wheel arches in the front and rear. From the changes in the stern – a different pattern of lamps and a slightly different bumper with a blackened diffuser. By default, the car is set on 19-inch wheels, although the client can order 20-inch wheels for a surcharge.
Note that during the restyling for the Audi RS 4 Avant (B9), two new body shades became available: the usual blue “Turbo blue” and the red metallic “Tango red”. However, through the Audi exclusive program, buyers can even choose more exclusive shades (for example, “Nogaro Blue”, which was painted in the RS2 Avant of the 1994 model).
Among the changes in the cabin, it is worth noting the appearance of a 10.1-inch touchscreen for the MMI touch entertainment system. To accommodate it, the Germans had to slightly adjust the layout of the central tunnel, while abandoning the rotating multimedia controller.
The new body of the Audi RS4 Avant 2021 received a digital instrument cluster Virtual Cockpit, on a bright display of which you can display data on tire pressure, current power, torque, temperature of drive components, as well as overloads and lap times.
In addition, the station wagon was equipped with a new three-spoke steering wheel, which received a beveled rim from the bottom and larger paddle shifters. Plus, the model is offered an optional ambient lighting, in the arsenal of which there are 30 different shades.
The very same design of the salon of the “charged” station wagon during the renovation practically did not change. As before, the interior is finished in Alcantara with red stitching, although now, in addition to contrasting red accents, customers can also opt for more subdued gray accents.
The Germans did not change the technical stuffing during the restyling, so the new body of the 2021 Audi RS4 Avant is still driven by a 2.9-liter turbo six, which works in conjunction with an eight-speed tiptronic automatic, developing 450 hp. and 600 Nm.
The station wagon has four-wheel drive quattro with a mechanical center differential, while the Wheel-selective torque control system is designed to provide more efficient cornering. For a surcharge, an active rear differential is offered for the car.
The dynamics of the updated Audi RS4 Avant (B9) also remained at the same level. Consequently, it takes 4.1 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km / h and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h (280 km / h with RS dynamic package).
By default, the German “shed” is equipped with a standard RS sports suspension, but the car can be ordered with the RS plus suspension, which additionally has adaptive Dynamic Ride Control shock absorbers. The latter better withstands rolls and body rolls that occur during hard braking.
As for the brakes, there are 375mm perforated discs at the front of the car, and 330mm at the rear. Note that the front calipers are six-piston, and for a surcharge, 400mm carbon-ceramic discs can be installed at the front.
In the updated RS4 Avant, you can change the settings for the engine, suspension, transmission and steering using the Audi drive select, while the driver has the ability to customize the RS1 and RS2 modes specifically for himself by programming them to activate from a special “RS Mode” button on the steering wheel.
In Russia, the acceptance of orders for the Audi RS4 Avant was opened only in June of the twenty-first year, the price of a “charged” station wagon starts at 6,990,000 rubles.
