In July of the twentieth, the Germans presented the serial version of the electric crossover BMW iX3, the concept version of which was shown to the public at the April Auto Show in Beijing two thousand and eighteenth.
It is difficult to call a full-fledged novelty BMW iX3 2021, since the car received a body from the usual X3 (G01). However, there are still visual differences between the models. In particular, the version on “batteries” put other bumpers, “deaf” nostrils of the radiator grill and contrasting inserts in a circle.
In the base, such a crossover is delivered on 19-inch wheels with aerodynamic design of spokes, which are designed to contribute to an increase in mileage (optionally, you can order 20 ″). At the same time, the aerodynamic drag coefficient of the SUV is 0.29 Cd, that is, only 0.01 less than on the usual “X-third”
The interior of the electric crossover turned out to be standard at all, although a digital tidy was installed in the cabin by default, which had previously become available for some other modern models of the Bavarian automaker. We also note that in August of the twenty-first, the model underwent a slight restyling, during which the models slightly tweaked the exterior and interior.
Like the regular X 3, the electric 2021 BMW iX3 is built on the CLAR platform and weighs 2,185 kg in curb condition. At the same time, the company proudly notes that the “green” SUV is the first production model with a fifth generation electric installation. The latter implies a modular architecture and the rejection of expensive rare earth metals.
Interestingly, the boot volume here is 510 liters, which is 40 liters less than on the version with a traditional internal combustion engine. At the same time, with the rear seats folded down, the hold capacity reaches 1,560 liters (- 40).
The BMW iX3 is powered by a 286 hp electric motor located on the rear axle. and 400 Nm. Thus, the model has only rear-wheel drive, while acceleration from zero to hundreds takes 6.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 180 km / h.
The electric motor receives power for its operation from the lithium-ion traction battery located under the floor. The latter has a capacity of 80 kWh and is capable of providing a cruising range of 460 km (according to the WLTP cycle). When recharging from a fast station with a capacity of 150 kW, you can replenish the battery by 80% in just 34 minutes, but even in Europe the network of such stations is still underdeveloped.
The standard equipment of the electric SUV includes an adaptive spring suspension, panoramic roof, LED headlights, three-zone climate control, an electric fifth door and much more.
Serial production of the model was established at the BMW Brilliance joint venture in Shenyang, China. The electric cars assembled here are sold both in Asia and Europe. The price of the new iX3 starts at 67,300 euros (approximately 5.8 million rubles at the current exchange rate), deliveries of such cars to Russia are not planned – we offer the more status and expensive BMW iX.
