Denza company, formed in two thousand and twelve by Daimler and BYD concerns specifically for the production of electric cars, has finally presented its second model – a large and richly equipped crossover with the letter “X” in the name.
However, the Denza X 2020 is still not an absolute novelty. In fact, we have before us a reworked BYD Tang, which was presented to the general public in two thousand and eighteen. Daimler specialists were engaged in correcting the appearance of the model, as indicated by the corresponding nameplates with the inscription “Styled by Mercedes-Benz”.
At the front, the serial Denza X is notable for narrow diode headlights, united by a decorative strip, as well as a bumper with graceful side sections of air intakes. By the way, the stern is made in a similar style, while the side of the car draws attention to itself with an unusual design of wheels and a sloping roof with chrome edging of glass.
As on the donor Tang, the interior of the new Denza X 2020 model is three-row, and the German side was again responsible for its design. The SUV received a 12.3-inch dashboard and a 15.6-inch multimedia screen, while the front panel has turbine-shaped ventilation deflectors and wood veneer decor.
Developers propose to control the electric drive of the seats using the remote controls on the doors. Other interior features include leather seat upholstery, front seat ventilation, as well as contour lighting and a panoramic roof.
All Denza X body panels are new, but the power structure of the body, as well as doorways and glass, went to the car from the BYD Tang model. In terms of dimensions, the crossover reaches 4,890 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, the distance between the axles is 2,820 millimeters.
You can order Denza X in one of two versions. The first is a rechargeable hybrid with a power plant borrowed from a donor. Such a car is driven by a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 192 hp. and a six-speed robot with a built-in 150-horsepower electric motor.
These units are responsible for the rotation of the front wheels, while a separate electric motor for 245 “mares” is installed on the rear axle of the hybrid. It is reported that the SUV in this specification accelerates from zero to hundreds in less than 5.0 seconds.
The second option is a full-fledged electric car. It is equipped with a single 245 hp electric motor, and its battery lasts about 500 km (according to the NEDC cycle). The Denza X is slated to begin sales in China in its twentieth year, with the first hybrid to appear in dealer showrooms, no pricing information yet.
