In June twenty-first, the official premiere of the Lynk & Co 09 crossover, which is the largest and most expensive model of the Chinese brand, took place.
In terms of exterior design, the novelty is designed in the brand’s corporate style. It has two-story head optics and stylish taillights, visually made in the form of a single strip across the entire width of the stern.
At the same time, the “nine” was the first model of the family to receive retractable door handles. In the base, it is installed on 20-inch wheels, and on more expensive versions, rollers are even on 21 ″.
The interior of the SUV is again designed in the style of the younger Lynk & Co. models. On the second row, there are separate chairs, and on the gallery there is a folding third row. The equipment of the car is very rich, and the top version boasts seven displays at once.
The car relies on a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster, a 12.0-inch multimedia system, a 12.8-inch head-up display, a 6.0-inch climate control unit, a pair of miniature (1.4 ″) screens in the climate control knobs, as well as a touchscreen on the second row, which is responsible for adjusting the third climate control zone.
Also on the SUV’s equipment list are an air freshener, a Bose audio system with 14 speakers, front seat ventilation, nappa leather seat upholstery, heated steering wheel and much more.
Lynk & Co 09 became the first model of the brand built on the basis of the modular SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform. Previously, the latter was the privilege of exclusively “older” Volvo series 60 and 90. Plus, it is based on the small-series coupe Polestar 1.
In terms of dimensions, the Chinese crossover reaches 5,042 mm in length, 1,977 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height. At the base, the car has a spring-loaded front suspension and a transverse composite spring on the rear axle. The most expensive versions are equipped with air suspension.
The “nine” enters the market with three variants of power plants. The crossover is based on a 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine with a capacity of 252 hp. with 48-volt starter-generator and eight-speed automatic. The drive of such a car is full: the Borg Warner clutch is responsible for connecting the rear axle.
Earlier, the Chinese reported that the basic version of the model could also be ordered in a front-wheel drive version with a capacity of 220 forces, but so far the appearance of the latter has not been officially confirmed.
More advanced versions are hybrids, which have a two-liter turbo engine on the front axle and an electric motor on the rear axle. The first option does not have the ability to recharge from an outlet, and its characteristics have not yet been advertised. The top hybrid is rechargeable, while the power of its units reaches 431 hp.
From electronics, it is worth noting the presence of a second level autopilot on the model. In fact, this is an advanced adaptive cruise control with functions for recognizing road signs and keeping the car in the lane. At the same time, over time, the company promises to equip the car with a more advanced third-level system with an unmanned plug mode.
The Lynk & Co 09 crossover will be produced at the Geely plant, the start of sales in China is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021, so the developers are in no hurry to announce the cost of the new product.
However, the model should be cheaper than the soplatform Volvo XC90, which is sold in China at a price of 99,000 dollars (7.2 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
