The Ferrari 360 is a two-seater sports car from the renowned Italian manufacturer. The car with the prefix Modena in the name is a closed coupe, the Spider is a convertible, and there is also a lighter and more powerful version of the Challenge Stradale.
The first official show of the Ferrari 360 Modena took place in the spring of 1999. The venue for the premiere was the International Motor Show in Geneva. Serial production of the model started later that year.
Recognizable sporty appearance
Externally, the Ferrari 360 Modena is largely reminiscent of its predecessor in the face of the F355 Berlinetta. The exterior of the car turned out to be stylish and graceful. Two massive air intakes, located in the corners of the body, look especially impressive.
Due to this solution, the area of the radiators was increased without additional damage to the spaciousness of the luggage compartment. The lower edge of the bumper on the F360 is slightly raised, the body has received wide “skirts” and outer panels devoid of sharp corners.
It is curious that the streamlined shape of the Ferrari 360 Modena came out not so much thanks to the efforts of the designers, but as a result of the titanic work of engineers and aerodynamics specialists. They worked hard to reduce the aerodynamic drag of the car, spending a total of about 5,400 hours in a special tube.
Technical features of the model
Under the hood of the Ferrari 360 Modena and Spider is a 3.6-liter V8 engine producing 405 hp. and a maximum torque of 373 Nm. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, the supercar accelerates from zero to a hundred in 4.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 298 km / h.
The “charged” version of the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is equipped with a similar propulsion, but boosted to 426 hp. Additional 21 “horses” allowed such a coupe to reduce the acceleration time to a hundred by 0.1 s, and the maximum speed increased to 300 km / h.
In addition, the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale version features a lightweight aluminum chassis, upgraded brakes and suspension, new 19-inch wheels, a gearbox with paddle shifters, and a body with carbon elements.
The owner of any Ferrari 360 is free to choose one of two driving modes: normal or sport. The second allows you to experience all the delights of a 3.6-liter engine. The car in it becomes more responsive, maneuverable and begins to accelerate faster.
The interior of the Ferrari 360 Modena is made in a sporty style, but not devoid of elegance and sophistication. High quality sports seats, aluminum pedals, a sports steering wheel, a pretty dashboard – all this is present in the car.
Serial production of the F 360 was discontinued in 2005, after which it was replaced by the new Ferrari F430. Now you can buy a Ferrari 360 in Russia only on the secondary market, the price for a coupe and Spider fluctuates on average from 1.8 to 2.3 million rubles.
During the life of the model, Ferrari released several racing modifications, including the Modena Challenge, 360 GTC and GT.
