Fiat 500e 2020-2021 – photo and price of a new model, characteristics

Concern FCA has declassified the electric hatchback Fiat 500e, which in the model range of the Italian brand is intended to replace the “five hundred” of the previous generation.

In terms of design, the new model shares a lot with its predecessor and is still a retro-styled three-door hatchback. The “face” is formed by rounded headlights and a “smiling” central air intake in the front bumper, while the Italians have abandoned the Fiat logo – instead, a nameplate with the “500” index is placed.

On the side, the electric car is notable for more massive roof pillars, and at the back – new lights. Note that for the compact, a variant with a soft sliding top is also announced. The new Fiat 500s 2020 received a more spacious interior with a flat floor, as well as a digital tidy with a 7.0-inch display and a 10.25 ″ multimedia complex screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

For the start of sales of the hatchback, the automaker has prepared for him a special version of “La Prima”. These cars are richly equipped with 17-inch wheels, LED headlights and rich chrome decor in a circle, while their interior is trimmed with artificial leather.

Moreover, the company immediately presented three exclusive copies of the Fiat 500, developed in collaboration with leading fashion designers – Bvlgari, Giorgio Armani and Kartell. Each such car has a unique exterior and interior design, while they will be sold at a charity auction, and all the proceeds will be donated to one of the environmental organizations of Leonardo DiCaprio.

Built on a new platform, the electric Fiat 500e 2021 is slightly larger than its predecessor. In length and width, it reaches 3.63 and 1.69 meters, respectively (an increase in both indicators was 6 cm), while the wheelbase of the car was increased to 2.52 m (+ 0.2).

The Fiat 500e in a new body is powered by a 120-horsepower electric motor and a traction lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 42 kWh. Acceleration from zero to hundreds is declared at 9.0 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to 150 km / h. The power reserve is 320 km (according to the WLTP cycle), while the battery can be recharged from a special “fast” terminal to 80% in just 35 minutes. The ride electronics have three modes: Normal, Range and Sherpa.

The last of them allows you to achieve maximum range. It not only reduces reactions to pressing the accelerator pedal and limits the maximum speed to 50 km / h, but also deactivates most on-board electrical consumers (for example, climate control and heated seats).

It is reported that the compact electric hatchback has received a second level autopilot, the performance of which is provided by adaptive cruise control with the function of keeping the car in the lane, monitoring of “blind” zones and an automatic braking system.

Interestingly, the Italians will continue to produce the old Fiat 500 with internal combustion engines in parallel with the new electric model. Acceptance of orders for the latter has already started, but so far the manufacturer has announced only the cost of the aforementioned version of “La Prima”: for such an option they ask 37,900 euros, and the circulation of the modification is limited to 500 copies.
