For The First Km, Nothing Fell Off And Did Not Break, But The Tires Are Terrible

I took a new Chery Tiggo 7 in the cabin, after 2,000 km of run and two months behind the wheel, I made up my impressions of this “Chinese”. I must say right away that the impressions are twofold: on the one hand, there are no complaints about the assembly and operation of the main systems, but the feeling of anxiety does not leave. It seems that something Tiggo is missing, but first things first.

The silhouette of the crossover reminds me of a Lexus PX – a beautiful body, stylish bumper design, high ground clearance. When I first left the city, I got into a strong slip on sand and gravel – nothing broke or fell off, although it was clearly felt that the crossover was crawling along the sand almost on the bottom.

The standard tires on the crossover are just awful – in rushes, hard at the seams, in some patches, the suspension suffers from this. When I changed it to normal quality, it immediately stopped knocking on the rear springs.

The interior of the Tiggo 7 is comfortable, the material is of an average price, it does not make the impression of being cheap. Neat seams, the panels are all firmly installed, I tried to tear off the trim – they glued it to the conscience.

Convenient keyless access, the panorama gives a feeling of spaciousness, although four tall men are not cramped in the cabin. Good control equipment: a camera with all-round views, a convenient valet parking lot, the sound quality in the media system is rated “four”. I liked the dual-zone climate control, there are additional light and rain sensors – everything works fine.

But with the seats the Chinese have made something clever – it is very uncomfortable for me to sit down with my height of 178 cm. The chairs are somehow ugly in shape, albeit soft, but if you spend half a day behind the wheel, after going out, your back hurts, and you have to work out your legs.

It is not clear why a washer is installed on the front console – I assumed it was a control knob for some kind of system, it turned out … for beauty. Among the many comfort systems, there is a lack of a ventilation regulator, there is a heated seat for the seat, but there is no heating of the backs, the climate control screen closes automatically after ten seconds.

Chery Tiggo 7 accelerates very well, you can feel the dynamics, and the fact that the motor still has enough power for a jerk. It is comfortable to drive, the steering wheel obeys, does not pull anywhere. The suspension is set up semi-rigid, the holes pass smoothly – there are no jumps and pecks, but I advise you to slow down before unevenness – all the time it seems that something should fall off in the crossover.

The whole assembly does not give the same solid confidence as in German and even our cars. After two months, it still seems like you are driving a toy car, and not a full-fledged crossover.

The gas pedal is clearly not adjusted, the engine starts with a delay of 1-2 seconds, then you can get sharp acceleration and jerks. In general, in order to start correctly, you need to practice well on the Tigo. The box “kicks” at low speeds – it is very annoying if you move around the city and get stuck in traffic jams.

The overall impression of the crossover is not bad, but strange unnecessary devices on the dashboard are annoying with an obvious lack of the necessary options. So far there are no complaints about the engine and fuel consumption – let’s see what happens in six months.
