At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin unveiled several interesting concepts to the public at once. One of them turned out to be the prototype AM-RB 003, the commercial version of which will probably be called “Valhalla” and will become the third mid-engined supercar of the British brand.
Specialists from Red Bull Advanced Technologies took part in the development of the novelty, as a result of which the two-door received a number of technical and aerodynamic solutions from Formula 1 cars.

Outside, the AM-RB 003 is notable for the presence of an aerodynamic body kit, all of which are made of carbon fiber. According to the developers, such a body kit generates “an impressive level of downforce for road cars.”
Outwardly, the model largely repeats the Aston Martin Valkyrie, but looks less extreme. The presented concept has a slightly different form of head optics, and an air intake appeared in the center of the hood.
The two-door rear lights are twin LED strips, each of which consists of five separate sections. The stern of the supercar is remembered for its massive diffuser, but the latter repeats that on the Valkyrie.
It is impossible not to mention the neat rear wing. This piece of body kit is not particularly noticeable, but it was developed using the FlexFoil technology, which was previously adopted by NASA.
Such a wing is able to adjust its profile depending on the road situation without changing the angle of attack or putting forward any additional elements. Aston Martin will be the first company to use this type of aviation technology in the automotive industry.
When developing the car interior, the company was guided by the philosophy of “Apex Ergonomics”, so the AM-RB 003 is a more practical car than the Valkyrie. In particular, there is a more spacious cockpit, where the driver and passenger do not sit close to each other – they are separated by a wide center console.
There is space for luggage behind the seats, while the cabin also has various niches and pockets where you can put a wallet or smartphone. The British point out that thanks to the LMP1-style doors that open upward along with the roof section, they were able to facilitate entry / exit.
The interior design of the prototype is minimalistic, while the oval steering wheel with digital tidy located on the leg is worth noting. The standard screen of the multimedia system is absent – instead, the British propose to use a personal smartphone that can be placed on a special mount.
Like the Aston Martin Valkyrie, the concept AM-RB 003 is built around a carbon fiber monocoque powered by a newly developed hybrid setup. It is known that a turbocharged V6 was taken as its basis, but the details of the technical filling have not yet been specified.
It is also reported that the machine has received an innovative sealed oil system “Nexcel”, thanks to which an oil change can be made in less than 90 seconds. It was previously used on the racing Aston Martin Vulcan, and now it should appear on the road supercar. Plus, the concept was equipped with an active suspension and numerous electronic assistants.
The transformation of the AM-RB 003 into a serial Aston Martin Walhalla is scheduled for 2021, with the supercar being produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces. The expected price is at least 1 million euros.
