high-performance electric pickup as an alternative to Cybertruck

The American company Nikola Motors has introduced the Badger electric pickup truck, which attracts attention with its aggressive exterior design. Outside, the novelty is notable for a brutal front bumper with a black insert on which the name of the brand flaunts, as well as a staple performance of LED optics in the style of GMC Sierra.

The electric truck has an embossed hood and black plastic wheel arch liners, and also boasts cameras instead of exterior mirrors, “hidden” door handles and illuminated side “skirts”.

The upper part of the Nikola Badger body effectively contrasts with the lower one – the pickup has black struts and a roof. As for the stern, here the car again received a huge black trim, on the sides of which there are boomerang-shaped lanterns, and in the center there is a large logo in the form of the letter “N”.

The interior of the truck also suffers from gigantism: the car has a large steering wheel, digital tidy and a huge multimedia system tablet located in the upper part of the “floating” center console. The front panel of the model has a minimalistic design and striking metal decor.

It is reported that the length of Nikola Badger reaches 5,900 mm, width – 2,160, and in height – 1,850 forces (1 329 Nm). They receive power for their work from a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 160 kWh, which provides the car with a range of 483 km.

In addition to the electric version of the EV (Electric Variant), the FCV (Fuel Cell Variant) version is also announced, the technical filling of which is supplemented with hydrogen fuel cells. The latter can generate electricity, and when they are used, the range increases to 966 km, while a special button in the cabin is used to switch between driving modes.

Unfortunately, the dynamic characteristics of the new Nikola Badger model have not yet been advertised, but it is known that the car is capable of towing a trailer weighing over 3.6 tons. Another feature of the car is a 15-kilowatt socket, to which various tools can be connected. According to the developers, the presence of the latter allows the pickup to be used at construction sites as a generator.

Nikola Motors representatives note that the batch production of Badger will be organized jointly with another company, but the Americans have not yet named their partner. When exactly the sales of the finished version of this model will begin, as well as its cost is still unknown.
