Gradually I get used to the operation of the automatic transmission and the motor. Consumption in the city until 8.9 liters. Sounds good for a machine gun. I tried 92 and 95 gasoline, I did not notice the difference. I realized that the 95th is more expensive, but it does not give advantages in the city. Maybe there is a difference on the track?
A little about the suspension. She is, of course, tough. All speed bumps feel like a fifth point. As a way out – I dropped the tire pressure from the recommended 2.3 to 2.1 atm. It became a little softer. On the highway at a speed, the clearance is high and the tires are too narrow. Feels like it would be necessary to lower the clearance, and the wheels are wider, but only without extremes.

Prior to that, I drove an Opel Astra H 2008, which I successfully passed into trade-in. So, the new Solaris is noticeably noisier at speed. A slightly higher class of Astra for its time, and noisy factory tires (Kumho is on Hyundai), and the Shumka of Solaris in general, affects here. In any case, it will not be a revelation to anyone that the “Korean” is not distinguished by good noise.

We get high from the automatic transmission in the city with my wife. At first we doubted whether we needed a machine gun, but now we are very glad that they took it. True, you need to get used to it: sometimes you want to add gas in the current gear, but you squeeze the pedal a little, and the gear is thrown down. But this is a matter of habit, and now this happens quite rarely.
The engine is quite enough both in the city and on the highway, especially when you get used to the operation of the machine. There are no complaints about the suspension: it is dense, quite energy-intensive and does not rattle yet.

Of the unpleasant moments, I was struck by the fact that the Koreans saved on everything. On a car full of stuffing, there are no corny mud flaps and bonnet hydraulic seals. The new body of the Hyundai Solaris 2021 is built on the basis of the modernized platform of the first generation model, while high-strength steel grades are more widely used in its body structure (their share reaches 52%). The South Korean sedan has the following suspension scheme: the front is a classic MacPherson strut, and the rear is a semi-independent torsion beam design.
In the basic configuration, disc brakes are installed on the front axle of the car, and drum brakes on the rear. In more expensive versions, disc mechanisms are used in a “circle”. Sedan Hyundai Solaris II generation after retyling has the following overall dimensions, mm:

The capabilities of the basic 1.4-liter engine for young people will clearly not be enough, but a car with a 1.6-liter unit drives much more cheerful, and even with a gun. By the way, the automatic transmission here understands well what the driver wants from it, bringing to the wheels the maximum possible torque from the available torque.
The Solaris suspension is not particularly suitable for use on bad roads: even a completely new car passes the transverse joints too rigidly, which means that you will have to forget about the comfort in the cabin. On a good surface, on the other hand, such suspension settings are pleasing: the sedan does not roll too much in corners and practically does not sway.
Salon Hyundai Solaris 2021 in a new body immediately makes it clear that we have a budget class car. For example, the front panel here is almost entirely made of hard plastic of varying degrees of resonance. The fit of the parts in general is at a decent level, however, when passing irregularities here and there, “crickets” begin to appear.
The interior of the Korean sedan is ergonomically verified, and of the obvious shortcomings, it is worth noting only the multimedia system with a new tablet-like screen. The “hardware” of the latter is clearly outdated, which is why the complex is annoying with a second response and frequent freezes.
The unremarkable-looking front seats in the 2021 Hyundai Solaris are comfortable enough to sit out for several hours of continuous driving. On the driver’s seat during the restyling, the lumbar support adjustment appeared, which is also a definite plus. There are no questions about the back sofa. Of course, there are no amenities on the second row, but there is enough space and the ride is quite comfortable.
In February twentieth, the official presentation of the updated Hyundai Solaris of the 2nd generation took place at the plant in St. Petersburg, while the company timed this event to the release of the two millionth car at this plant. The new Solaris became the jubilee machine.
Outside, the car received a completely redesigned front end and slightly corrected stern. At the front, an enlarged radiator grille with a fashionable pattern, as well as a new head optics with diode DRLs, are immediately striking. The new bumper added aggression to the car – it has a slot in the center and deep “pockets” on the sides with imitation of air ducts, where the foglights are registered.
At the rear, the new Hyundai Solaris received a different bumper and a modified pattern of the lanterns, while the shape of the latter remained the same. In addition, the sedan has got a different hood and new design wheels.
They did not seriously touch the salon, but they nevertheless changed something. In expensive versions, the screen of the multimedia system has been increased from 7.0 to 8.0 ″, and now it sticks out a little. The multimedia itself has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions, as well as a preinstalled Yandex.Navigator with Alice’s voice assistant.
In terms of technology, Solaris remained unchanged, except that the company noted the improved sound insulation of the wheel arches, the normal absence of which was previously one of the most obvious disadvantages of this model.
