Lamborghini Diablo is the legendary supercar from the Italian manufacturer, which became the successor of the Countach model. It was named after the indomitable and courageous bull of the Spanish Duke Veraga.
The production version of the Lamborghini Diablo coupe was unveiled in Monte Carlo on January 21, 1990.
The car impressed everyone with its unique appearance. She looked aggressive, but at the same time elegant and sophisticated. In the design of the Lamborghini Diablo, American-Italian features were traced (Lamborghini then belonged to the Chrysler concern).
The supercar received retractable headlights and fashionable guillotine doors that open upwards. The interior has been moved to the front of the vehicle. Sharp edges and lines give Diablo that extra aggressiveness and speed.
Luxurious roar and phenomenal power
Under the hood of the car hid a real “monster” – a 5.7-liter 12-cylinder 492-horsepower engine. It was an upgraded version of the Lamborghini V12 with increased displacement, electronic fuel injection technology and dual overhead camshaft (DOHC).
Rear-wheel drive supercar Lamborghini Diablo is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, with which the car picks up a hundred from a standstill in 4.5 seconds (from 0 to 200 km / h in 13.7 seconds), and the maximum speed reaches impressive, even today standards, 325 km / h.
Everything for weight loss!
At the time of its appearance, the price of Lamborghini Diablo was $ 240,000, but the supercar did not have a luxurious interior and a lot of equipment. For example, primitive manual power windows are installed in the cabin. Also, the car did not have ABS. But all this was done in order to reduce the weight as much as possible, equal to 1,625 kg.
Lamborghini Diablo VT
The standard model was sold from 1991 to 1993, and in 1993 saw the light of the Lamborghini Diablo VT (Viscous Traction) – a restyled version of the supercar.
