At the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, the premiere of the exclusive Lamborghini Reventon supercar, released for sale in the amount of twenty units (the automaker collected one car for its own museum), took place.
The Lamborghini Reventon is based on the chassis from the Murcielago model, but the body panels of the car are completely new and made of composite materials. The supercar weighs 1,665 kg, and its overall dimensions, mm: length – 4,700 mm, width – 2,058, height – 1,135, wheelbase – 2,665.
Traditionally, the new supercar got its name in honor of the fighting bull, from Spanish Reventon is translated as “explosion”, and in relation to the car its name is interpreted as “which is about to burst”. Although the Lamborghini Reventon does not look pumped on the outside, the designers were inspired by combat fighters when developing its exterior.
The Lamborghini Reventon is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine with 650 hp. (660 Nm), borrowed from the Murcielago LP 640 modification. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual or robotic transmission that transmits traction to all wheels.
According to the automaker, the supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 340 km / h. But on tests in Dubai (UAE), independent testers managed to accelerate the Lamborghini Reventon to 356 km / h, fixing this value using special measuring equipment.
The dashboard in the Lamborghini Reventon cabin has three LCD displays, one of which can display an instantaneous overload sensor. The supercar is decorated with genuine leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber.
The original price of the Lamborghini Reventon was one million euros (approximately $ 1.3 million). According to reports, 10 of the 20 cars were sent to the United States, 7 remained in Europe, 2 coupes were delivered to Asia and one more to Canada.
Lamborghini Reventon Roadster
Two years after the debut of the Reventon coupe, the Italian supercar manufacturer unveiled an open version of the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Even more exclusive (15 copies) and even more expensive – the price is 1,200,000 euros (about 1,700,000 dollars).
Unlike the coupe, the roadster received a different glazing and a different engine compartment cover. The car was 25 kg heavier, but the weight gain was compensated by a more powerful 670-horsepower V12 power unit from the Murcielago LP 670-4 SV.
The Lamborghini Reventon Roadster accelerates from zero to one hundred in the same 3.4 seconds as a hardtop car, but the official top speed has dropped from 340 to 330 km / h.
– The Lamborghini Reventon is the first car manufacturer to feature LED running lights.
– Each of the 20 Reventon coupes has a plate with the serial number of the car; the numbers 0/20 flaunt on the museum version.
– Lamborghini Reventon with serial number 3/20 was ordered by the lottery winner from Canada, who won $ 50 million in Lotto Max.
– One of the owners of the Reventon supercar is the President of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.
