The new McLaren 570S sports coupe premiered at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the third in the Sport Series, which includes the more powerful 650S and 675LT models.
From the outside, the new McLaren 570S resembles both the big brother in the face of the 650S and the top-end hybrid P1 hypercar. With the latter, the novelty is related to zigzag diode lamps, the shape of which resembles the design element on the brand’s emblem.
But with all this, all the body panels on the McLaren 570S are completely original. There are different bumpers, fenders, hood and engine compartment cover, other doors, diffuser, exhaust pipes and more modest side air intakes.
The interior design of the McLaren 570S also differs markedly from other models of the manufacturer. The cabin has its own instrument cluster, made in the form of a TFT display, and the center console seems to float in the air. Climate control and multimedia system settings are placed on a vertically oriented 7-inch touch screen.
The supercar is based on the MonoCell II carbon monocoque, which weighs about 80 kg, and the body panels for the McLaren 570S are made of aluminum. The dry weight of the car itself (without technical fluids and the driver) is 1313 kg, and its distribution along the axles is 42:58 in favor of the rear.
As for dimensions, the overall length of the 570S turned out to be 18 mm longer than the older 650S (4,530 mm), plus the car turned out to be a couple of millimeters wider (2,095) and higher (1,020). This provided more space in the cabin, an increase in the luggage compartment to 150 liters, and also somewhat simplified entry / exit.

The engine here is a well-known 3.8-liter twin-turbo from other models, but derated, as the name suggests, up to 570 “horses” (600 Nm). In general, up to 30% of its components were changed in the design of the unit, so that it received its own index M838TE.
Traction is transmitted to the wheels of the rear axle via a 7-band SSG robotic transmission with two clutches. The McLaren 570S spends 3.2 seconds to accelerate from zero to hundreds, and accelerates to 200 km / h in 9.5 seconds. For comparison, the 650-horsepower variant does this in 3.0 and 8.4 s, respectively. The maximum speed reaches 328 km / h.

The car is put on different-sized wheels, “shod” in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires measuring 225 / 35R19 at the front and 285/35 R20 at the rear, the suspension is on double wishbones with anti-roll bars, as well as adaptive shock absorbers in a circle and three modes of operation: Normal, Sport and Track.
