New Nissan GT-R 2012 model year has already appeared on the motor show in Paris, but his world debut will still take place in Los Angeles in the second half of November this year. In the meantime, the company has published a large press release, which reveals the main details regarding the new product.
As has been noted many times, the facelifted front bumper of the updated GT-R features integrated LED daytime running lights. In addition, it is reported that due to its different form, the cooling of the front brakes is improved.
The car also received a modified rear bumper and diffuser. These seemingly minor changes allowed engineers to increase the car’s downforce by 10 percent over its predecessor, and the drag coefficient dropped from 0.27 to 0.26.
But technically, the supercar has undergone more serious changes. Increasing the boost pressure of the 3.8-liter V6, upgrading its intake, a new exhaust system and changing the valve timing and air-fuel mixture, allowed to increase the output from 480 to 530 hp.
The maximum torque has also increased and now peaks at 612 Nm in the engine speed range from 3,200 to 6,000 rpm. It is noteworthy that the average fuel consumption of the updated Nissan GT-R at the same time decreased by 0.5 liters – to 8.5 liters per 100 kilometers. But the press release was silent about the change in the speed characteristics of the new items.
But we can definitely say that new nissan gtr will be faster, because it has become not only more powerful, but also lighter than the current model. The total weight gain was about 10 kilograms, not the least of which were the new Rays rims. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT tires will now become standard tires for the supercar.
The technical changes do not end there. In addition to installing more efficient brakes, the redesigned Nissan GT-R has redesigned front and rear suspension. Also, when driving at a speed of up to 10 km / h, the front-wheel drive is automatically disengaged from the car, which greatly facilitates maneuvering.
As before, the supercar will be offered in several variants. Charged version Spec-V will receive reinforced rear brakes, a different algorithm of the stabilization system, as well as an increased maximum torque, which in Boost mode can reach 632 Nm.
After some absence, Nissan will return an extreme version of Club Track, designed exclusively for driving on the racetrack. And finally, the EGOIST modification, which includes leather upholstery, a BOSE audio system and allows, as an option, a rear spoiler and a titanium exhaust system, as on the Spec-V.
The last two versions are intended only for the Japanese market, but will most likely be available in Europe as well. Price for the basic version of the new Nissan GTR 2012 in Japan starts at 77,100 euros. On the islands, the novelty will be on sale in November this year, and in other countries, including the United States and Europe, only from February 2011.
