In the spring of the twentieth year, the line of Porsche 911 models (series 992) was replenished with a modification in the targa body. The new sports car has the same convertible top design as the previous generation.
The roof panel over the heads of the riders is made of magnesium alloy and is retracted under the “cap” of the rear window, which for this effectively rises together with the engine cover, moving back a little.
The Porsche range
Although the design of the mechanism did not change, the Germans managed to slightly speed up the process of transforming the roof. Now it takes 19.0 seconds (- 1.0), while lifting and retracting the roof section is still possible only on a stationary (parked) car.
Compared to its predecessor, the new Porsche 911 Targa 2020-2021 model year now reaches a length of 4,519 mm (+ 20), although the wheelbase remains the same – 2,450. The width of the sports car has not changed either (1,852 mm), while the sports car has become slightly higher – 1 297 mm (+ 6).
The new body of the Porsche 911 Targa (992) is equipped with a 3.0-liter boxer biturbo engine, which works with the eight-band PDK robot by default. However, if desired, the client can order a car with a seven-speed manual transmission, and the version with a manual transmission comes with a pre-installed Sport Chrono package. The drive for the model is exceptionally full.
There are two options to choose from: the base Porsche 911 Targa 4 (385 hp) and the more powerful Targa 4S (450 hp). The first of them accelerates from zero to hundreds in 4.2 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 289 km / h. The variant with the letter “S” takes the 0-100 km / h bar in 3.6 seconds (maximum speed – 304 km / h).
Both modifications are equipped by default with an adaptive suspension PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management), while the older version additionally has an electronically controlled rear differential, although the latter is also available for the basic version for a surcharge.
The new Porsche 911 Targa 4 has four-piston brakes at the front, while the Targa 4S has six-piston brakes. Carbon ceramic movements are offered as an option. As for the wheels themselves, from now on they are of different sizes, with 19- and 20-inch wheels installed on the base machines (front and rear, respectively), and on more powerful ones – 20- and 21-inch.
The list of two-door equipment is supplemented by the adaptive cruise control “InnoDrive”, which in its work is guided by the readings of video cameras, radars and the navigation system. Plus, the cars are equipped with an electro-hydraulic system for increasing the ground clearance, which allows the front body to be raised by 40 mm (if road conditions require it).
The start of sales of the new Porsche 911 Targa (991) is scheduled for August two thousand and twentieth. It is known that in Germany it will be possible to buy a basic sports car at a price of 128,000 euros, and a more powerful 4S – from € 144,000. The cost of a model in Russia starts at 8,890,000 and 9,790,000 rubles, which is 50,000 rubles. more affordable than similar convertibles.
