The Japanese have unveiled an updated version of the 2021 Nissan Armada SUV, which is essentially the North American version of the global Nissan Patrol model. Interestingly, during the restyling, the developers tried to endow the car with a number of unique features, thereby distancing it from the source.
In particular, the 2021 Nissan Armada received a different front bumper with a massive silver insert, as well as its own grille with black horizontal strips. Plus, the updated SUV became the first Nissan model in the North American market to “try on” a simplified version of the logo.
Recall that for the first time the new nameplate was demonstrated on the electric crossover Ariya. The three-row cabin of the overseas Nissan Armada was also modified, having received a number of differences from the updated Patrol. In particular, on the American model, the Japanese decided not to use the controversial design of the center console with two touchscreen displays.
Instead, the car received a single 12.3-inch infotainment tablet sited above the horizontal ventilation vents, under which sits a traditional climate control with physical buttons and knobs. Plus, the Japanese changed the layout of the central tunnel.
The latter now has two washers at once, one of which is responsible for the settings of the all-wheel drive, and the other – for controlling the “music”. Another feature of the Armada was the appearance of a 7.0-inch display embedded between the analogue scales of the instrument. In addition, the SUV received a new frameless interior mirror with a built-in screen, the area of which has been increased by 50%.
It is known that on the second row of the new Nissan Armada 2021 model year, both a three-seater sofa and a pair of separate armchairs can be installed. For a surcharge for the large SUV, rear seat entertainment is available with new 8.0-inch displays on the front seatbacks.
Technically, the SUV has not changed and is still equipped with a 5.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 with 406 hp. and 560 Nm., working in tandem with a seven-speed automatic. The drive of the model can be either rear or full – with a clutch and a reduction gear.
The list of Armada equipment in the database is represented by the Safety Shield 360 safety complex, which includes adaptive cruise control, but the ProPilot proprietary system is not included in the car. Car sales in the States will start in the near future, there is no information on prices yet, but the pre-reform version costs at least $ 47,500 there (3.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
