Nissan has officially unveiled the new Magnite crossover, the name of which is derived from the words “magnetic” and “ignite”. Interestingly, the SUV was originally developed as a model of a subsidiary of the Datsun brand, but the latter will soon be eliminated. The Japanese did not cancel the project, presenting it under the main brand.
As a result, the new 2021 Nissan Magnite has a distinctive Datsun radiator grille and large boomerang-shaped DRLs placed at the corners of the bumper. Among other features of the model, it is worth noting a two-tone body color with a black roof, the presence of an all-road body kit in a circle and a point silver decor.
Already in the base, the crossover can boast of fully LED head optics, and 16-inch wheels are installed on the wheels of all versions without exception. The salon of the new Nissan Magnet 2021 is five-seater, but for the average passenger in the second row, only a lap belt is provided. By default, the car has a digital tidy, consisting of a seven-inch display in the center and two painted scales on the sides.
The Nissan Magnite is built around a simple front-wheel drive platform CMF-A, which, for example, is also based on the Renault Kwid hatchback and the Triber crossover. Since the model was developed with an eye to the Indian market, the Japanese tried to keep its length within the tax-friendly four meters (3,995 mm). At the same time, the SUV has quite a solid ground clearance – 205 mm. The declared trunk volume is 336 liters.
In the base, Nissan Magnet is equipped with a three-cylinder aspirated liter with a capacity of 72 hp, which works with a five-speed mechanics. As an alternative, a turbo version of this engine is proposed, which goes in conjunction with a variator, developing 95 forces. The model is exclusively front-wheel drive.
The list of basic car equipment is as follows: ABS, two airbags, rear parking sensors and air conditioning. For a surcharge, all-round cameras, an engine start button, contour interior lighting, multimedia with an eight-inch display and a stabilization system are offered.
The Japanese will put Nissan Magnite on the conveyor of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi plant, which is not far from the Indian city of Chennai. Auto sales in the local market will start at the beginning of 2021 at a price of $ 7,200 (550,000 rubles at the current exchange rate). The competitors are Hyundai Venue, KIA Sonet and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Later, this crossover may appear in a number of other markets.
