The mid-engined supercar Aston Martin Valhalla was first presented to the public in 1919 under the working title “AM-RB 003”. It was expected that this model will be the first car of the British brand with a new V6 biturbo engine of its own design, but plans have changed.
Some time ago, the Daimler concern became the largest shareholder of Aston Martin, after which the company decided to completely switch to AMG engines. The first model with a German engine will be the Valhalla.

The vehicle under development has been sent for complete reengineering and is now re-presented in its updated form. In fact, now we have a completely different car.
The new version of the Aston Martin Valhalla attracts attention with a modified body design. Its front part is now made in the same style as other modern models of the brand.
The two-door also received new lighting equipment, modified body panels and a different windshield with a frame. In other words, only the structure with a carbon fiber monocoque remained from the mentioned prototype.
At the same time, the British note that a model with a new aerodynamic body kit is capable of generating about 600 kg of downforce at a speed of 240 km / h.
In terms of the convenience of a two-seater saloon, Valhalla should become a road car for every day. For the model, adaptive cruise control, all-round cameras, a multimedia system and a number of other equipment are announced.
Naturally, in the course of reengineering, the concept of a hybrid power plant was revised. The British ditched the use of their own V6 engine in favor of a 4.0-liter AMG V8 with two turbines.
It is known that the supercar will receive the most extreme version of this engine with a “flat” crankshaft, which is familiar from the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. The engine output is 750 hp, and it can spin up to 7,200 rpm.
The hybrid installation of the updated Valhalla implies the presence of two electric motors with a total capacity of 204 forces. One of these is integrated into an eight-band dual-clutch robot designed specifically for Aston Martin vehicles.
This electric motor works in conjunction with the internal combustion engine, driving the rear wheels. By the way, the differential for the model is announced with an electronically controlled lock.
The second electric motor is located on the front axle and is mainly intended for driving on pure electric traction, and is also responsible for reverse gear. The fact is that the British sports car does not have a reverse gear in the transmission, so the reverse is exclusively electric (like on the Ferrari SF90).
The total output of the listed units reaches 950 forces (1,000 Nm), and the dry weight of the model is declared at the level of 1,550 kg. According to the British, from a place to a hundred, a two-door car is capable of “firing” in 2.5 seconds, reaching speeds of up to 330 km / h.
The developers expect that the car will be able to drive the Nürburgring circle in a record 6 minutes and 30 seconds. Recall that the current record among serial cars is 6 minutes and 43.3 seconds.
As for the all-electric mode, due to the modest traction battery, the range of the hybrid supercar is only 15 km, and the maximum speed is limited to 130 km / h.
Among other technical features of the model, it is worth noting the front suspension of the push rod type, which has horizontal shock absorbers and the ability to increase the ground clearance, which can be useful, for example, for the passage of “speed bumps”. A classic multi-link is installed at the back.
It is known that Multimac will be the supplier of adaptive shock absorbers for cars. The brakes for the car are declared carbon-ceramic, with control “by wire”.
Due to such significant changes, the release date of the Aston Martin Valhalla was shifted – the supercar will appear on the market no earlier than 2023, that is, a year later than previously planned.
Initially, the company wanted to produce 500 of these two-doors at a price of 875,000 pounds sterling (76.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate), but it is possible that the circulation and the price tag will also be revised.
