At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the Croatian company Rimac Automobili presented its second model, called the C_Two. The car is an all-electric hypercar with impressive performance.
Several design elements of the new Rimac C_Two are reminiscent of its predecessor Concept_One. For example, cars have a similar shape of head optics, deep stamping on the sidewalls of a characteristic shape, lining on the sides of the front bumper.
At the same time, the second model is slightly higher, has a more developed body kit and stands out with an unusual pattern of rims, diode lighting equipment, as well as doors that open upwards that capture the side windows and part of the roof.
In the cabin there is a fully electronic instrument panel, and a huge tablet is located on the center console. The sports chairs and steering wheel are electrically adjustable, the trim is made of genuine leather and carbon fiber, and behind the seats is a small niche for luggage.
At the heart of the Rimac C_Two is a carbon fiber monocoque with a carbon rear subframe and structural elements made of aluminum and composite materials. The battery pack with a capacity of 120 kWh is integrated into the monocoque structure.
And then the most interesting thing is that electric motors are installed on each of the wheels of the car, each of which is equipped with an individual gearbox: single-stage gearboxes at the front and two-stage gearboxes at the rear.
The total output of all electric motors is 1,914 hp. and 2,300 Nm of torque, which enable the hypercar to accelerate from 0 to 96 km / h in 1.85 seconds and a top speed of 412 km / h. The declared power reserve is 650 kilometers on the NEDC cycle.
The battery pack is equipped with a liquid cooling system, but the time of its full recharge is not specified. Among other things, the second model from Rimak has active aerodynamics, which includes a front splitter, a hood, a diffuser with movable flaps and a rear wing that changes the height and angle of attack.
In addition, the company has equipped its offspring with an autopilot of the fourth level of autonomy. There is adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping systems, monitoring of “blind” zones, prevention of frontal collisions and independent movement in a traffic jam.
The operation of the complex is provided by eight cameras, six radars, twelve ultrasonic sensors, two laser rangefinders, as well as a GPS and IMU-sensor, which allow determining the position of the vehicle in space.
Rimac C_Two also boasts a virtual trainer, which is a set of tips while driving on some racing tracks. The driver will receive information about acceleration and deceleration points, steering angle and optimal trajectory.
What is the price
In total, the company plans to build only 150 copies of this model, the start of sales is planned for 2010. According to preliminary data, the cost of the hypercar will be about 1.6 million euros, while the Electric Motors Club company is ready to bring the car to Russia – the price will be about 131 million rubles but this does not include customs, taxes and shipping.
