The line of power units of the Russian version of the Skoda Karoq consists of a 1.6-liter MPI aspirated and a 1.4-liter TSI turbo engine. Immediately surprised by the size of the trunk (as well as the umbrella inside!): It’s really big. We did not order a spare, and there is still a lot of space under the lid. Landing – no inconvenience with my 183 cm, which is really cool for such a compact machine. The seats themselves are rag (my wife was categorically against the skin) and very comfortable.

As for the appearance … Karok is the first in our city, and I regularly catch the glances of passers-by and drivers, although we have 5-6 Kodiaks, but they are all dark colors, and our “snowball”, in my opinion, looks preferable. The combination seats (suede and leather) are very comfortable. My height is 188 cm, and I sat behind me – behind the place of norms, although in my Duster a five-year-old child rested on a chair with his feet.

The trunk is large (500 l), but the floor is uneven, because of the stowaway it turns out with a step, in the full version it will already be even in the summer. The biggest drawback of the car is the PRICE! In 2018, for this money, I took a Tiguan on a full drive! At the same time, Karok does not have a rear-view camera (this is for a wheelbarrow for 1.7 million rubles), and instead of a multi-link there is a beam (but this is for nitpicking).

The car is very pleasant. Sufficiently soft, not booming suspension, small turning radius. The engine is quite enough in the city – it pulls from the bottom, it is not necessary to twist, therefore it does not yell. On the track, too, goes well.

Fuel consumption. Lew Ai-98 gasoline. In the city, with a fairly free road, the consumption is from 8.0-8.3 and up to 10.5 liters in traffic jams. On average, about 9.0 liters. I didn’t drive much on the highway. One trip of over 100 km showed a consumption of 5.6 liters. Others – about 6.0-7.5 liters. It strongly depends on the speed and the number of overtaking.

The new body of the Skoda Karok in 2021 is built on the basis of the modular MQB platform of the German concern Volkswagen. An independent MacPherson suspension is used on the front of the SUV, and a semi-independent torsion beam is used at the rear. The brakes on both axles are disc, but the front is also ventilated.

  • The all-wheel drive modifications of the Skoda Karoq 1.4 TSI are paired with a six-band DSG robot. This option gains 100 km / h in 8.9 seconds, while its maximum speed can reach 193 kilometers per hour.

The power unit of Karoka pleases with a high-spirited character, thanks to which the Czech crossover is one of the most dynamic in its class. It not only accelerates quickly, but at the same time demonstrates vigorous picks up when accelerating on the move, which will definitely come in handy when overtaking on the highway.

No serious questions arise with regards to controllability. The new Skoda Karog 2021 obeys the steering well, has excellent directional stability and remains obedient even on steep turns. By the way, similar qualities are typical for most models based on the German MQB platform.

Unfortunately, because of these chassis settings, the SUV can feel harsh on the go. So, if the “Czech” digests minor defects in the roadway quite worthily, then large potholes and speed bumps are already clearly transmitted to the salon.

The front bucket seats inside the new Skoda Karoq 2021 model look more than solid from the outside, but because of the overly widely spaced rollers, they do not have much sportiness. At the same time, the range of seat and steering wheel adjustments allows passengers to easily find the optimal fit.

The rear sofa in the car is not adjustable, however, it pleases with a large supply of free space in the knees and above the head, so that even tall passengers will be comfortable here. Air deflectors, armrest and heating are designed to please the riders of the second row.

Like other models of the brand, the new Carok is made in the “Simply Clever” corporate philosophy, which means that the ergonomics of the interior are thought out to the smallest detail. The cabin has trash compartments in the door pockets, and the trunk contains a variety of hooks and nets for securing cargo. You can only find fault with the readability of the dashboard in the daytime, the reason for which is the speedometer numbers placed in the silver rims.

The Skoda Karoq crossover, which is the successor of the Yeti model, was officially presented on May 18, 2017 at a special event in Stockholm, and the world premiere of the model took place only in the fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

If the start of European sales of the off-road vehicle was not long in coming, then the new Karok reached Russia only at the beginning of two thousand and twenty, and the production of cars for our market was localized at the GAZ plant in Nizhny Novgorod.

The name of the car is formed from two words of the language of the Alutyik people – an Eskimo tribe that inhabits the southern coast of Alaska. We are talking about “KAA’ROQ” (read as “karak”), which means a car and “RUQ” (pronounced “Ruk”) is an “arrow”. The latter is depicted on the company logo.
