The car drives as if glued. A very well-built chassis: the car behaves perfectly at a speed of 120-150 km / h, while driving on a dirt road or paving stones does not cause any unpleasant sensations. The engine is good, provided that the variator allows you to get the most out of power and economy.
I have already appreciated the proprietary EyeSight system. On the track, day and night, he drives the car clearly, brakes on time, accelerates well. It turned off only once – in heavy rain behind the truck (the system works on two stereo cameras, that is, precipitation affects, but a minute later it worked again.

The cabin is spacious, easy to breathe, there is some kind of “minivan” or something. There is plenty of room in the back for two. The third passenger will be at least not quite fun – the tunnel is noticeable.
The trunk is small, but since the body is a hatchback, the problem is solved if necessary. The quality of materials is normal, everything is modern and up to date. Noise isolation … well, at least it is. Visibility: forward – excellent, but on the sides and back – so-so.

I went to 1.6 (more for fun) and then to 2.0. The first option is for completely beginners or for those who have already managed everywhere. If the movement is only in the city (up to 60 km / h, both motors accelerate normally), you can drive 1.6. For me, a car is, first of all, its trolley: comfort, convenience and sensations from behavior on the road. In this regard, and in this price category, the XV has no competitors. He rides comfortably, nobly, but without compromising directional stability and active steering.
There is an amazing gearbox here: a torque converter combined with a chain variator, which is much more comfortable in operation than automatic machines and robots. The car allows you to drive dynamically, there are no delays on the steering wheel and pedals. The brakes are above all praise. The new 2021 Subaru XB body is built on the SGP (Subaru Global Platform) modular platform, which is characterized by a wider use of high-strength grades of steel. Compared to its predecessor, the torsional rigidity of the body has increased by 70% at once.
The model has a fully independent suspension with MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link structure at the rear. Plus, anti-roll bars are installed on both axles of the car.
During the restyling, the Japanese used other springs and shock absorbers in the design of the suspension, which allowed them to achieve a higher smoothness. The dynamics of cars with a basic engine leaves much to be desired, and the older two-liter version is not a “race” either. However, at speeds up to 130 km / h, the latter is quite enough, but further the speedometer arrow crawls “up” extremely reluctantly, which makes overtaking difficult.
The suspension on the Subaru XV 2021 in the new body is quite comfortable and allows, for example, speed bumps to pass at a speed of 80 km / h without any noticeable discomfort. At the same time, such suspension settings do not have a negative effect on handling. The Pavto drives fervently, which partially compensates for some lack of dynamics.
The front seats in the Subaru XB have a good back profile, while they do not have lumbar support adjustment, and the lateral support is so-so here. The landing itself is high, due to which the dimensions are perfectly read. True, there is little free space above your head, but you still don’t have to prop up the ceiling with the top of your head.
Compared to its predecessor, in the second row of the crossover there is a little more space in the legs and above the head, but the “air” is still close to each other. There are no conveniences in the form of separate ventilation deflectors and sockets for rear passengers.
The interior of the new Subaru XV II model itself became noticeably quieter. If earlier at high speeds the passengers were “pleased” by the hum of the engine and variator, now they are almost inaudible, and the only annoying source of noise is the tires.
The second generation of the Subaru XV crossover was presented at the Geneva Motor Show two thousand seventeen, where a pre-production version of the car was shown exactly a year ago. In March, the twenty-first in Russia, they opened the acceptance of orders for a restyled version of the model.
From the outside of the pre-reform version, the novelty can be distinguished by new bumpers with enlarged black linings, a large-mesh radiator grille and other wheels. With the restyling, the car also received a new body color – a yellow hue “Plasma Yellow Pearl”, while the interior remained unchanged.
From the line of power units of the Russian model, the base 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 114 hp disappeared, which was chosen by only 2% of buyers. At the same time, a new 2.5-liter engine with a capacity of 185 hp became available for cars in the States, but they do not plan to supply such versions to us.
