Porsche has officially unveiled the new Cayenne in the most extreme version of the Turbo GT, which has previously been marked at the Nurburgring, staking out the best time among crossovers.
The novelty is offered exclusively in a coupe-like body and has a number of unique features. Outside, the modification attracts attention with a modified aerodynamic body kit.
The Porsche range
The front bumper of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT has received an original lower trim, and the wing above the rear window has got additional side stabilizer sections.
In turn, the retractable wing here has a tail-spoiler increased by 25 mm. Only due to this decision, the downforce was immediately increased by 40 kg.
The developers also report that the roof of the extreme modification is made of carbon fiber (glass is not offered even for a surcharge). Plus, the car already in the base has a sports exhaust system with two large oval pipes, shifted closer to the center of the rear bumper.
As for the interior, it is strictly four-seater on the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT – with a combined leather and suede trim. A steering wheel with a zero mark is also installed in the cockpit.
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine, which is also equipped with the “regular” Turbo version of the model. But the hybrid appendage (as on the Turbo S E-Hybrid version) is not allowed for the novelty.
At the same time, the Germans significantly modified the mentioned engine, increasing its output from the standard 550 hp. and 770 Nm to 640 forces and 850 Nm of torque. For this, the crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and timing chains were replaced at the unit.
The turbines, direct injection system, intake and intercooler were also refined. The eight-speed automatic machine laid down for the model was strengthened, and additional liquid cooling appeared in the transfer case.
It is reported that the new modification is the fastest in the family – it takes only 3.3 seconds to accelerate from zero to hundreds. In comparison, the regular Turbo does the job in 3.9 seconds, while the Turbo S E-Hybrid takes 3.8 seconds. The maximum speed is declared at 300 km / h.
Separately, it is worth noting the equipment of the Turbo GT: such a crossover is based on all the technical options that are offered for other versions of Kayne exclusively for a surcharge.
In particular, the model is equipped with an adaptive PASM suspension with PDCC active anti-roll bars, an all-wheel steering chassis and an electronically controlled rear PTV differential. Plus there are top-end PCCB carbon ceramic brakes.
The suspension settings for the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT have also been specially selected. For example, the stiffness of the air suspension is increased by 15%, and the ground clearance is lowered by 17 mm in standard mode.
Compared to other versions of the Cayenne, the front wheels of this version are wider by 13 mm, and the negative camber is increased by 0.45 degrees. These changes are intended to improve tire contact with the road surface when cornering.
By the way, the 22-inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires on the serial off-road vehicle are also far from ordinary: they were exactly the same on the car that set a new Nurburgring record.
The debut of extreme cayenne on the European market will take place in September 2021, the price for it starts at 196,000 euros (about 17.0 million rubles at the current exchange rate). Such a crossover will appear in Russia, but the date of the start of sales and the price tag have not yet been announced.
