The police in many countries are well aware that it is unlikely that a standard car will be able to keep up with some sports car. Therefore, some departments are buying quite super-high-speed extreme equipment for the car fleet (if, of course, they can afford it).
Among them are “charged” sedans, and exclusive supercars, and even electric crossovers. In this article, we got a rating of the coolest and fastest police vehicles from all over the world.
Lotus Evora and Lotus Exige. Great Britain
Foggy Albion is the cradle of many famous portcars, and it is no wonder that some of them serve to maintain order on the roads of their homeland. In particular, there are two Lotus cars operating in Sussex – the Evora and the Exige. The first is equipped with a 280-horsepower engine and changes 100 km / h in 5.0 seconds. In the second, the motor produces 220 hp, but due to the lower mass, it accelerates to a hundred even faster – in 4.1 s.
However, the British are not averse to using powerful foreign equipment. For example, in Humberside, a charged 423-horsepower Lexus IS-F sedan with an 8-speed automatic, a maximum speed of 270 km / h and acceleration to one hundred in 4.7 seconds is working.
Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. Italy
The four-door sedan may not be as cool in appearance as the coupe, but the dynamic performance of this 2016 police car will be the envy of many Italian carabinieri.
In the south of the country, not a simple version of Julia is working, but a charged Quadrifoglio. Under the hood, it has a 510-horsepower engine from Ferrari, which accelerates the car to a hundred in just 3.9 seconds.
BMW i8. Germany
Previously, the most powerful police car in Germany was considered a charged 2012 BMW M5 in the back of an F10. A weighty sedan with a 4.4-liter V8 developed 560 hp. and accelerated to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds – quite enough to “punish” reckless drivers on German roads.
Recently, however, he was accompanied by a spectacular i8 hybrid, which is not only more beautiful and “greener” than an emka, but also faster – up to a hundred, this supercar “shoots” in just four seconds.
Tesla Model X. Australia
Not only the German police were concerned about reducing emissions into the atmosphere, but also their Australian counterparts. Therefore, we purchased for our fleet not just a supercar, but neither more nor less an ultra-fast electric crossover from Elon Musk.
Tesla Model X accelerates to a hundred in a little over three seconds. Even regardless of the size of the car, the chances of escape from the pursuit of the fugitives will be small.
Lamborghini Huracan. Italy
The Huracan is not the most powerful Lamborghini in the police force. The more powerful 740-horsepower Aventador, for example, successfully operates in one of the UAE emirates. But this Huracan works at home, and in addition, this is the second Lamborghini, which enforces law and order in Italy. Prior to that, special high-speed tasks were performed by the Gallardo supercar.
The exclusive coupe is designed only for very important matters. In addition to patrolling highways, it is also used for ultra-fast delivery of donor organs and blood.
Nissan GT-R. USA
Even despite the special signals and license plates, there is no reliable information about whether this car is in the US traffic police. At least no one noticed him patrolling the streets. However, some believe that this Nissan is in the service of a secret department, and it is used by the police to carry out various secret missions.
Apparently, they have enough such tasks, since the car is lit up with enviable regularity in various social networks. Under the hood of this supercar, considered one of the most affordable cars in its class, lies a 3.8-liter V6 with 550 hp. The GT-R accelerates to 100 km / h in less than 3 seconds.
Ferrari FF. UAE, Dubai
In terms of the use of supercars in police work, the Arabs, of course, surpassed everyone. It is in the Gulf countries, mainly in the Emirates, that the most expensive, exclusive and fastest patrol cars in the world are concentrated. They are located in the first four lines of the rating.
The four-wheel drive Ferrari FF was acquired by the Dubai police back in 2015, but it still successfully patrols the streets. The car is driven by a V12 with a volume of 5.3 liters and a power of 660 hp. A hundred FF “exchanges” in just 3.7 seconds, and the maximum speed is 335 km / h.
Aston Martin One 77. UAE, Dubai
This car is not just rare, but exclusively rare. During production (from 2009 to 2012), only 77 machines were manually manufactured for individual orders. One of these customers was the Dubai police, who bought one copy in their park in 2011.
A feature of this car is the engine – one of the most powerful aspirated engines in the history of the automotive industry. V12 with a volume of 7.3 liters and a capacity of 750 hp. accelerates the wonder of British engineering to 100 km / h in just 3 seconds. The maximum speed is 355 km / h.
Lykan Hypersport. UAE, Abu Dhabi
We decided to keep up with our Dubai colleagues in the neighboring emirate of Abu Dhabi. They also decided to put on the road service one of the rarest supercars on Earth, but they chose a model from a closer Middle Eastern neighbor.
Lebanese Lykan Hypersport with 750 hp. and dispersed to hundreds in 3 seconds, only 7 pieces were released. The cost of each copy is at least 3 million euros, but is this money for the Emirates police?
Buggati Veyron. UAE, Dubai
And, of course, we could not pass by the Bugatti Veyron in Dubai. A car that for a very long time was considered the fastest and most powerful production car on the planet, and if we look directly at the police cars, then it still is (this fact is officially entered in the Guinness Book of Records).
This incredible car with a monstrous W-shaped 16-cylinder supercharged engine with a displacement of 8.0 liters and a power of 1,000 hp. accelerates to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds, and the maximum speed exceeds 400 km / h. A police officer driving a patrol car like this is definitely one of the best jobs on earth.
