The Italian company Automobili Estrema has unveiled a new Fulminea electric hypercar at the Turin Automobile Museum. Outside, such a two-door is notable for a streamlined body with puffy wheel arches.
The car also has quirky headlights that are shaped like lightning bolts from the side. Interestingly, the “stuffing” of the head optics is also quite unusual: both lasers and LEDs are used here.
In turn, the rear lights of the model are made in the form of thin RGB diode strips. In addition, there is a brake light at the rear of the vehicle, integrated into the central fin.
Estrema Fulminea has four electric motors with a total capacity of 2,040 hp. At the same time, a unique feature of the hypercar is the “hybrid” traction battery, in which the developers have used both lithium-ion components and supercapacitors.
As planned, they are located separately from each other in special carbon cells, with the supercapacitors located in a small compartment on the front axle, while the solid-state lithium-ion components are located in a container at the back. This solution supposedly contributes to better weight distribution along the axles.
It is reported that the “hybrid” battery weighs about 300 kg, while the estimated weight of the hypercar itself is at the level of 1,500 kg. The battery capacity is 100 kWh, and the power reserve is declared at 520 km (according to the WLTP cycle). With fast charging stations, recharging batteries from 10 to 80% can be done in less than 15 minutes.
Automobili Estrema said that the development of “hybrid” batteries is being carried out jointly with ABEE (Avesta Battery Energy Engineering), while they plan to entrust the production of batteries directly to IMECAR Elektronik.
As for dynamics, according to preliminary information, the hypercar is capable of accelerating from zero to hundreds in about 2.0 seconds, and acceleration from 0-200 mph (320 km / h) is possible in less than 10.0 seconds.
The edition of Estrema Fulminea is limited – a total of 61 copies will be produced, while the first two-doors will not be assembled until the third quarter of 2023. The developers have not yet spread about the cost of the model, but interested parties should prepare about 2 million euros (179.3 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
