Immediately, I note that the car disappointed with serious maintenance costs – in total, it “ate” about 100,000 rubles. This fact is indirectly confirmed by 3 recall campaigns that the manufacturer has been running since 2015, that is, after the start of the release of this miracle technology. The first global problem was associated with the fuel pipe, the second was provoked by heated seats, and the third was the side airbags. Therefore, I recommend checking the VIN to see if the car falls under one of these campaigns.

As for the interior trim, it is extremely crappy. Hard plastic quickly becomes covered with scratches, and when the mileage approached 9,000 km, it began to creak terribly in different places.

Failed in the car and with the comfortable seating of people in the cabin. The driver and front passenger feel tolerant, but those who sit back find it difficult. There is more or less room only for compact people – thin, with small stature. Another plus for comfort is the hard seats. But the car has a huge trunk. A reasonable question arises – did the engineers create a compact truck or a passenger car? Was it really impossible to find a middle ground?

In terms of handling and driving characteristics, Datsun on-DO is strikingly similar to the good old “eight”. It was good for its time, but not relevant for more than two decades. By the way, the components fit from our car, which is surprising, alarming and frustrating.

Electronic equipment is not far behind the cabin and suspension. The car has heated mirrors, seats, rear window. But when you turn on the heated seats, the generator emits such a whistle – it seems that it will take off or explode under the hood. And the funny thing is that the heating elements work extremely poorly.

Do not trust reviews that tell you about tolerable performance, good technical characteristics and decent equipment. In fact, this is junk that will suck all the funds out of your wallet. It is better to ride a bicycle than to ride consumer goods: you will save money and nerves, and it is also good for your health.

We approached the most painful – reliability. She’s not here at all. For almost two years of operation, I was tortured to collect this rubbish. First, the ECU was covered, then the bearings and steering switches flew. Soon it was necessary to seal the seams and change the dashboard (though they did it under warranty).

But my hands dropped when, not having passed even 18,000 km, the engine lay down. This became the cause of complete insight. Therefore, I categorically do not recommend buying Datsun On-Do either in the basic or in the top-end configuration.
