The premiere of the second generation Toyota Venza 2021 crossover took place in the USA. However, the latter is not a full-fledged novelty, since it is a version of the fourth generation Toyota Harrier SUV adapted for the North American market.
In terms of design, the new Venza almost completely repeats the Harrier. There are the same narrow headlights and lanterns, while the front of the model is notable for a cascade-shaped radiator grill and streamlined side bumper sections with vertical slots. The car has a sloping roofline, and in the large wheel arches, alloy wheels of 18 or 19 inches can be installed.
The interior of the 2019-2020 Toyota Venza in the new body is characterized by the presence of a three-spoke multi-wheel and modern multimedia with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces. The entertainment complex has an 8.0-inch tablet in the database, and a 12.3-inch tablet on more expensive ones.
Depending on the configuration, the diagonal of the on-board computer screen in the instrument cluster also varies. By default, it is 4.2 “, but it can be 7.0”. Standard equipment includes a fully touch-sensitive climate control unit and a six-speaker audio system. Options include a 10.0-inch head-up display, front seat ventilation and JBL premium music with nine speakers and a subwoofer.
Plus, for a surcharge, the new Toyota Venza of 2021 can be equipped with a display instead of a salon rear-view mirror, which displays a picture from a camera installed in the upper part of the stern, as well as a panoramic Star Gaze roof with electrochromic glass. The latter can be made opaque with just the click of a button.
Based on the GA-K modular platform, the Toyota Venza crossover features MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link design at the rear. The length of the car is 4,740 mm (- 60 mm, compared to its predecessor), the wheelbase is 2 690, the width is 1 855 (- 50), the height is 1 660 (+ 50). Trunk volume is declared at 1,028 liters (according to the American EPA method).
The new model Toyota Venza 2021 is an all-wheel-drive hybrid, the power plant of which consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder aspirated, an electromechanical variator and two electric motors, one of which is mounted on the front axle and the other on the rear.
The total output of the units reaches 222 hp, while the Japanese placed the lithium-ion traction battery under the rear sofa. You cannot recharge the latter from the mains, and its charge is replenished on its own directly while driving. In addition to the purely electric mode, the SUV also has the Normal, Eco and Sport driving presets.
The new Toyota Venza is equipped with a proprietary complex of electronic assistants Toyota Safety Sense with adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and a collision avoidance system that can recognize pedestrians and cyclists. Also in the arsenal is the electronic Active Cornering Assist (ACA) system, designed to combat drift when braking in corners.
Another interesting feature is the Predictive Efficient Drive (PED). Thanks to the latter, the navigation system remembers the places in which the driver most often slows down, and during subsequent trips begins to turn on the recuperation mode in advance when approaching these sections.
The start of sales of Toyota Venza in the United States is scheduled for the summer of 2020, while in the company’s lineup the car will occupy an intermediate position between the RAV4 and Highlander crossovers. Off-road vehicle prices are expected to start at $ 30,000. In the future, the model will appear in China, but the prospects for other markets are still vague.
