Vesta Does Not Go At All In Comparison With Almera Classic

I chose a new car for myself between Rio, Rapid and domestic Vesta, settled on the latter. The option seemed the most acceptable both in price and in bodywork – a station wagon suited my current requirements best of all. While I was without a car, I drove an Almere Classic, so I will compare Vesta with her.

First impressions of the new Vesta – the car does not drive at all compared to Almera: no dynamics, very slow acceleration. But after a couple of thousand kilometers, the opinion changed slightly.

Vesta drives well – better than all the cars that he drove before, but the engine is clearly weak, and the engine adapted for Euro-5 often shakes. At the same time, on Almera there is a motor similar in characteristics, the size of the wheels is identical, but on Nissan such an engine turns, and on Vesta with great difficulty.

A soft and long clutch is installed on the Lada, so after Almera, where the start goes abruptly and immediately, it often stalled at first. The manual transmission howls, the first is not always stuck in the first time, the lever travel is excessively large.

After six months of operation, condensation flowed, partly into the interior, and the heater system had to be completely changed. It’s good that the problem didn’t come to light in winter. The dealer changed under warranty, but had to wait two weeks.

I was puzzled by the illumination of the doors and trunk – it turns on on all doors at once. Of the shortcomings of the model, most of the jambs are precisely in the body and the assembly of the cabin: the frame of the number and the saber of the tailgate are erased by the paintwork, the chrome coatings are chipped off after a small gravel hits. In general, the painting is poor and unstable.

The seals on the glasses (all) are not sealed, sand and dust are constantly being filled. The steering column switch sometimes freezes – the distant one does not give or the near one starts to blink, it is necessary to remove the key.

But I liked the seats on Vesta, a good support for the backrest, after six hours of driving I practically did not feel fatigue. Large interior – enough things can fit in the trunk, even large ones.

I liked all the control assistance options: adequate cruise control, good climate control. But there is also a drawback – the rain sensor works by itself, starts to squeak.

In general, I like Vesta’s huge trunk and the voluminous interior – there is enough space for everyone, but small jambs spoil the overall impression. Over time I got used to unstable engine operation and long clutch. Vesta is a car for work, not for leisure.
