In early June, the presentation of the new Volkswagen Taos crossover took place, but then the company did not announce the cost of this model. A month later, dealers began accepting orders for cars, so now the official prices and configurations are known.
The base for VW Taos in the Russian market is equipped with a 1.6-liter aspirated MPI with a capacity of 110 hp. For a basic front-wheel drive with a 5-speed manual, they ask for 1,626,900 rubles, and later there will also be a version with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The more powerful turbocharged 1.4 TSI produces 150 forces and can be either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In the first case, the car is equipped with an automatic transmission for eight gears, and in the second, a DSG robot (DQ381) with two wet clutches.
The most affordable all-wheel drive with DSG will cost 1,856,900 rubles, while for a car with front-wheel drive and an automatic machine they ask for 1,906,900 rubles, and the most expensive version of the crossover costs 2,199,900 rubles. In total, four configurations are offered for the car: Respect, Status, Joy! and Exclusive.
- Basic variant Respect Includes six airbags, reflective LED headlights, a light sensor, simple air conditioning, a 6.5 “media system, non-configurable 8.0” virtual instruments, heated front seats and 16 “steel wheels.

Note that calling the Volkswagen Taos new can only be called a new one. In fact, we have before us the well-known Skoda Karoq SUV with a slightly changed appearance and a redesigned interior.
In profile, Taos is practically indistinguishable from the original Skoda, but the front end here is original and in design echoes the Polo liftback. The car also received original bumpers (due to them, the length grew by the formal 35 mm) and other taillights. The cabin has its own front panel, steering wheel, other air ducts and a climate control unit.
In the lineup of the VW manufacturer, Taos took its place one step below the Tiguan, while it turned out to be slightly more expensive than the soplatform Karok (due to the richer equipment). Deliveries of the first “live” cars in the salons of official dealers are expected at the end of July.
